About Fort Wayne, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Fort Wayne is a northeastern Indiana city located just 18 miles west of the Ohio border. Found in Allen County, Fort Wayne is the second largest city in the state by population, with over 265,000 people calling the city home. Fort Wayne was originally built by the U.S. Army in 1794, but its current economy is based upon logistics and transportation, distribution, healthcare, and other prominent industries. Prominent companies here include General Electric, Dana Holding Corporation, and Tokheim, which provide ample employment opportunities for residents. Opportunities are also plentiful in terms of education, with Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne, the University of Saint Francis, and the Indiana Institute of Technology all located within the city limits.

Fort Wayne is a cultural hub in the state, with plenty of things for visitors to see and do. Nature lovers rejoice with trips to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo or Follinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory. There are many performing arts venues, including the Embassy Theater, which hosts the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra. There are also a variety of festivals and events held in the city throughout the year, such as the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival, Germanfest, and Greek Festival.

Weather conditions in Fort Wayne will fluctuate with the seasons. Summer conditions are hot, wet, and humid, with daily highs often reaching well into the 80s. For most residents, cooling off indoors involves a central air conditioning system. Not only will a central air conditioner reduce indoor temperatures, but the right system can also decrease humidity, or the amount of water in the air.

Winters in Fort Wayne can be dangerous for other reasons. The region experiences moderate snowfall, but freezing temperatures are common. January is the coldest month of the year, and average daily highs only reach about 32 degrees. Local HVAC technicians recommend that residents invest in annual maintenance of their gas or electric furnace, especially during the warmer autumn months. This will provide peace of mind that these systems will work properly when they are needed.
